a child at heart

the looking glass
I believe in angels,
The kind that heaven sends,
I am surrounded by angels,
But I call them friends.

thesis submission
- 목요일, 4월 08, 2010 -

finally. the day i have been waiting for is here.
i actually only have the time to type this because i got the USA time wrong. oh wells.

my acknowledgements in my thesis:
I would like to express my utmost gratitude to the following people whose help and support have been greatly appreciated:
A/Prof. Sanjay Khanna for his patience and guidance throughout the course of this project. I also think him for his valuable and timely advice without which this thesis would not have been possible.
Miss Esther Chang, the senior lab officer, for her technical assistance and encouragement in the past year. Seok Ting for helping me grow in my patience and wisdom; Zacky, Limeng, Jenn and Andy for their guidance and companionship, helping me through the tough semester.
(gee. i just saw the careless spelling mistake. oh wells. its printed.)

Well, actually i would much prefer my acknowledgements to be this way:
Thank you, Prof Khanna for his immense patience and guidance throughout the course of this project, and every so often act so fatherly towards me/us. I also thank him for his valuable and timely advice without which i would not be able to graduate~!
Thanks alot to Miss Esther Chang, the senior lab officer, for helping me learn how to perfuse an animal, talk to me that early in the morning when not even the birds sing. Only Esther reach as early or 10min later than me on most mornings. Thank you, Zacky!!!! your witty sarcash (or should I say satirism) is much appreciated, and make lab more tolerable for me for the past 2-3months. Too bad I didnt talk to you earlier, but your bulk and smileless demeanor is scary. To Limeng, you are so kind and motherly! I was so happy when you were around in the lab, it seems like I could ask you anything and everything! and oh well. Jenn, thank you. you did help in some stuff. but. hope you learn what's maturity and dont be led astray by Seok Ting. Andy, thanks for helping me do saline injections in the hind paws in the mornings. I cant stop being amazed with your precision. and because I cant phrase it any better than yiteng: thanks, Seok Ting for helping me grow in my patience and wisdom.
Thank you to my fellow life sciencers! for talking and eating late meals with me. like having dinners at 10-11pm, and just GRUMBLING about fyp. yays. rejoice rejoice rejoice. thanks to the other friends who listened to me grumble, and send some bits of oil along my way every so often. thank you to the bf who helped me complete that 100+ composite images, which saved me 1 wk, taught me excel saving me 10hrs and suffered through my lousy mood nearer to poster day and thesis submission.

i guess im alr missing lab. just some parts of lab. like chatting with esther early in the morning, just grumbling about it with fellow honours students, and giggling over nonsensical stuff talking to zacky. but i really really dont want to go and pick up a rat right now. like. erms. enough. and im glad that cuz labwork had stopped afew days ago, i was able to sleep till about 8-9am. u dunno how glad i was when its the sun's heat on my back that woke me up instead of my alarm (ok. today doesnt count.) i still have immuno ca2 to submit on monday, french oral and written tests on mon, tues and thurs (yes. that many.) and two exams to go in late apr and early may. but the worst is over (or at least i think, for now!)

seeing that 3 stacks of paper waiting to be bound and submitted.... its like the end of an era, and the beginning of another. like what ger says: seems like our lives are divided into before fyp end and after fyp ended.

oh and by the way, its just a random observation. at this time of the day, everyone's who's online on my contact list arent online. their statuses are all red. now you know who i learn from.
