the future

Fortune tellers are everywhere
Even the weird monster-lookalike machines that you see at some queer corners, they print a slip of paper when you put a coin and your hand in [just like a palm reader/fortune teller]
Tarot cards/ divination sticks/ reading the tealeaves pattern at the bottom of the cup.
Even fortune cookies.
These hobbies [for lack of a better word] are able to thrive because people are unsure of what the future brings. Everyone seeks comfort, security and we all have expectations.
Expectations are built on what happened in the past. Regardless of whether these happenings occurred to them, or to people around them. in their subconscious, events are recorded in their mind and extrapolated to predict what could happen if certain conditions of the events are fulfilled.
It is said that depression could be thought of as a disease of the mind that is learnt. It is learnt helplessness. These people were defeated again and again, and didn’t have the opportunity to see success [to them or to people around them].
When things stayed the same, when people seek for comfort and swim in the same pool, with the familiar danger zones to avoid and the familiar delight zones with everything positive, things will change. That’s life. Its never the same. It strikes when you least expects it. In life, there are blessings in disguise. There are traps and monsters. There are big grey wolves everywhere. But there are fairy godmothers too. There are flowers to admire and rainbows leading to places with all things beautiful.
So. Live in the moment.
Love makes time pass, and time makes love pass.
