this weekend is a super crazy week..hmmms..think its a positive kind of crazy, though of course, i cant do this for all weekends, will collapse from exhaustion..now i'm still happy from the exhaustion! haha..

thurs, 14th feb
lucas arrived in london from glasgow, jf picked him up..then lucas came to crash my lecture, which we pon half way thru the lecture..haha..we left during the lecture break! had yummy lunch at melissa's place, bak cho mee!! haha..though of course doesnt taste like sg good bakchomee standard, but at least i think its good sg-students-in-london standard liaos! though i'm still hungry after that..HAHA..insufficient carbohydrate uptake.. also met angus at lunch.. angus is from nus, also on exchange in london, but having exchange in UCL..
brought lucas to the guy's campus to check out KCL then brought him over to the nearby borough market [and of course i cant resist looking at turkish delights and nuts and all the yummy chocolate and cakes] angus is very lucky! he picked 5pounds off the floor [teach you to see where u walk] anyway he used the 5pounds to buy turkish delights for us to munch on..
then from borough market, me and lucas head over to tower london, tower bridge..its really really amazing..we didnt get to see tower london much, only hovered at the outside, and taking pictures just to say we step within metres of the entrance -__- but tower bridge is amazing..its so tall, majestic and the architecture is just pure genius..haha..
it started to feel really cold..been really warm the days before v-day..dunno why v-day the temperatures just started to dip.. brought lucas back to my place, drop off stuff, then we started to take a walk along river thames to head over to houses of parliament, big ben, westminster..then we started to hike [seriously i think we lost our minds there] to victoria..then take a supremely long bus to jinfeng's place..but ok la, on the way i got to show lucas where harrods etc is, though i dont think he can remember so much stuff at one go..stayed over at jf's place, while jf continue to rush his assignment..both me and lucas conked out le la!

fri, 15th feb
its my free day, so went back to my place to wash up etc, then left the place to bring lucas to walk pass london eye, so as to ascertain how alike it is to our singapore flyer..haha..walk past a group of artistic ppl acting like statues and then suddenly moving when someone dropped coins in their containers, really quite special..then walk across the jubilee bridge, and towards strand, then towards covent garden..got to show lucas the friday crowds at these hotspots..from covent garden we headed towards leicester sq to meet up with jf to get the tickets to the mucical 'chicago' first time i watch a musical, and its at 4.30pm..abit weird..go into the theatre it was still bright outside, when we come out it was really dark le..musical is good, but then again i have nth to compare it against, can only say that watching musicals on-stage is really good, as compared to watching musical films in cinemas..ohoh..and we got errrrrrr...spectacular seats..we were sitting right at the first row, so we had to tilt our heads to watch the musicals..haha..can only say the view is excellent..nth can block us already..then when the musical ended, i got a fake rose thrown from one of the performers..i dropped the rose while i was wearing my coat, so after wearing my coat, i tried to look for the rose, realised the girl behind me took the rose..RARRRRR..irritating..just when i thought got a flower the flower is gone :(
then head over to chinatown for dinner, went to the four seasons in chinatown for roast duck and braised tofu..the meal is not bad at all..

sat, 16th feb
woke up in the wee hours [7am] on a weekend! goodness..haha..but i must admit, lucas wanting to meet early to go portobello is a good choice..in the early morning, really get to see much more when there's people but not alot of people for a HUGE crowd...saw really interesting antiques and stuff this time round..bought a wine-stopper as a kinda souvenir, and the shop owner was really nice, allowed us to take a picture of his quaint shop..we went into alot alot of shops, checked out alot alot of antiques and funny stuff..oh yea! we saw a dog pee-ing at an antique bag while no one [other than both of us] was looking..goodness..hilarious! saw a very interesting antiques clock shop..its really nice, especially like this particular one that has a ball bearing rolling down a path, and the time taken for the ball bearing to complete one lap was 30sec. then the gears will turn, moving the seconds dial, and the minutes dial..we didnt stay long enough to see the hour dial move significantly..but the gear precision amazed me tremendously..
then head on over to greenwich..got a few transportation problem on the way, and we realised our lack of common sense..basically we finally reached our stop..had our lunch at the really picturesque bank of river thames [yes the river is really long, has anyone remember our river?]
and we went into painted hall, and many many other buildings like the maritime museum..anyway i think the painted hall was spectacular, the walls are all painted, and the murals have stories behind it..mirrors were placed to reflect the murals at the ceilings..i have loads of pictures of the painted hall placed on shutterfly! heehee..
greenwich market was ok, i think greenwich is a nice place to be at, just to relax, and walk around the various buildings..from greenwich, both of us returned to my place, to drop off our stuff and to have dinner..then we headed to leicester sq to meet jinfeng..
went to a live jazz pub..15pounds per entry, and this is considered one of the cheapest liao..
jinfeng: you drink white wine?
lucas: i'm ok with it
me: NO.
jinfeng: ok lets order this bottle of white wine
-__-" anyway lucas realised i really dont drink the white wine, so i ordered kahlua..haha..pls dont ask me about the price..anyway the ambience is really good, the songs are really good, and i absolutely love the female drummer..shes darn charismatic..now i sound like a lesbian..but anyway she's pretty and got the WOW factor of a drummer..
left the place at 2+am and i was dead tired..took the night bus back to my hall and they stayed the night..we slept at like 4+am..

sun, 17th
i woke at 9am, couldnt slp anymore and threw the duvet to the guys on the floor, cuz they were tossing and turning from the cold..let me rephrase: they are freezing..anyway heater was working real well, damn warm..but they are sleeping on the floor, and the floor, though its carpeted, still transmit the cold easily to ppl slping directly on the floor..lucas woke at about 12, then i went to wake jf with my tigger puppet..HAHA.. had lunch, but we dilly-dallied too much, left the place late, reached the flower market late, seeing ppl storing flower away already!
jf bought a pot of daffodils, saying that going all the way, out of the way to the flower market and leaving empty handed is...[i forgot the word he used, but you get the idea lar!]
oh and its daffodils! just like what lucas said! my bad, i thought it was some other flowers! so jf! its daffodils ar! ahaha..
then we went to spitalfields market, look see look see..i kinda like those handicrafts and stuff..loved this particular badge stall, the person made the badges [i know its no big deal] but its the designs that are really nice..the smallest is 1.50pound, then increment in 50pence when you increase the size of the badge..
sat down at this restaurant called 'canteen' -__- funny name ar? but the prices are really quite high end..ordered pot of tea and cookies, the tea and cookies are really good..and i had the opportunity to just sit and enjoy the world passing by for once these few hectic days bringing lucas around! haha..i walked so much and ate so much! ahah..i wanna check the weighing machine to see if i have put on weight nots..heehee..
went back to jf's place for dinner, his housemate gabriel cooked really nice seafood dinner..yumyum..baked haddock and mussels pasta..had ben&jerrys for desserts..anyone feeling hungry?! HEEHEE..caught the last train with lucas n a night bus back to my place, cuz i wanna go back to prepare for monday's lessons..lucas stayed the night so that the next day he can go to tate modern and places easily..

monday, 18th
had lab..was super tired..and hor, my lab partner who wasnt here last wk, didnt read up on this week's work too..she asked me what to do after we completed each step..got to the point i just did everythg.. -__-" abit sian diao lohs..but i dunno how to phrase it in a nice way to make her attempt to do some stuff! got back at like 3+, lazed around, played ds, chit chat with raquel then had to cook early dinner at 4.30pm..haha..left my place in a dead rush to meet lucas at queen's theatre..super irritating la! i went out of my place, saw the bus far away, so i ran across the road, and started flagging even before i reached the stop and reached the stop just in time to see the dum dum driver stare and smile faintly at me -___- basically the bus just passed me by at a sedate speed [read sedate, not even fast] without even an attempt to brake..haha..i stomped my feet and jumped up and down..HAHAHA..the person beside me just looked and shifted away from me..oh that irks me too! ppl standing conveniently there and not helping..hmmms..at least i meet nicer ppl in singapore! :D
basically i was supposed to meet lucas at 5.45pm, then i told him i will be late, will reach at 6pm..but i ended up reaching at 6.05pm since i took the bus at 5.50pm like that..haha..waitin in the cold aint fun! but i was standing next to the bread bakery place and just happily over-dosing on the freshly-baked-bread-aroma..heeeheee..
got the tix, walked around the area..
les miserables is SPLENDID..just spectacular..i love it!!! the props were wonderfully done, the storyline was outstanding, the singing is i-cant-find-flaws-in-it, the music had punch..if anyone asked, i will watch it again..dont mind paying that 27.50pounds student price just to watch it again..
returned to my place, had short chat with tobias and raquel, played ds..

today! tues..
had chee cheong fun for breakfast in the morning..raquel steamed it nicely, we ate with soy sauce and sesame oil..nice!! heehee.. me just waiting for lecture right now, then return to go tesco with tobias and raquel, and then head on over to victoria to meet jinfeng and lucas for dinner..but!! i tink i will be very hungry, and will eat something even before i meet them for dinner..haha..

les miserables music still in my head!
